Film director, screenwriter, producer

Born on August 15, 1956, in the Zhytomyr region, Ukraine.
Graduated from the Electrical Engineering Faculty of the Zhytomyr branch of the Kiev Polytechnic Institute in 1978, and in 1995 from the Higher Courses for Screenwriters and Film Directors with a degree –film director of animation.
His diploma film “The Law of Conservation” won the third prize at the III Competition of student films “Saint Anna” in Moscow in 1996.
Makovsky began his career in 1978 at the Research Institute of the State Construction Committee of the USSR (Kiev). He then served in the army. After serving in the army, Makovsky worked in the Kuril Islands as an engineer at the “Shikotan” hydrophysical observatory. In 1980-1990, he worked at the Sakhalin Integrated Research Institute.
1991-1993 – worked at “Kadans” Ltd in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.
1996-2003 – worked at the Higher Courses for Screenwriters and Film Directors.
2003-2007 – editor at “Centr Nacionalnogo Filma” (“National Film Center”) (Moscow).
2008-2009 – executive producer at Studio “ANIMACCORD”.
2011-2014 – director at the “Soyuzmultfilm” Studio.
From 2016 to the present, General director at the School-studio of Animated Films “SHAR”.
