In 1984 Malyukova graduated from the Theater Studies Faculty of GITIS.

In 1990, she became a candidate of art history (dissertation topic: “Interaction of arts: theater and cinema. 1920s”).

Malyukova worked as a music editor at the Central Television, editor at “Soviet Film” magazine, where in 1983 she created the section “Multirama” about the animation of the republics of the USSR.

Since then she has become an expert in animation.

Malyukova was published in different magazines: “Iskusstvo Kino”, “Seans”, “Novoe Vremya”, “Teatr”, “Sovetskiy Ekran”, “Variety”; and newspapers: “Izvestia”, “Ekran i Scena”, “Kommersant”, “Kultura”, “Nedelya”.

Since 2001, she has been working as a movie observer for “Novaya Gazeta”.

Member of the organizing committees of the International Festival of Animated Films “KROK” and the Open Russian Festival of Animated Films in Suzdal. In 1997-2002, Malyukova was a program director of the All-Russian Festival of Visual Arts in “Orlyonok”.

Malyukova specializes in the study of animated films. For many years she has been promoting and popularizing Russian animation not only as an author, but also as a member of expert councils, organizing committees, juries of international and domestic animation festivals, moderator of round tables and discussions on the problems of modern animation.
